I won't be reading tomorrow because I'm finishing an essay due tomorrow so I won't want to look at another book in any shape or form for a while.

But I am reading Tommy Mottola's autobiography at the moment.

Didn't realise it was World Book Day today. Just finished reading this, which I've already posted about.

Really good in the end! Took me today & yesterday to read it all. :oops:

I'm a fast reader, can't help it....besides, couldn't put this one down for long either, although it was a little slow to begin with.

I saw the movie first on TV then had to read the book afterwards. I loved it, I actually read it twice it was that good. Following that I discovered some other books by the author like Die Heimkehr and Liebesfluchten, the English translated versions of course. :lol:

Did you like the book? Have you seen the film? I would really recommend the movie if you haven't seen it.

I enjoyed the book because it was easy to read and the plot was quite interesting and gave some room for thoughts... Though I wouldn't say it's the best book we read in class. Do you know Faust I? It's already a challenge to read for Germans but the plot is very interesting, once understood, and it's among the most important books of the German literature.

I don't know the movie but iirc Kate-something (the one that also played in Titanic) plays the Hannah in it...

My last school book was Faust, and I liked it, though not that much. I'm not too keen on poetry or poetric form of writing

thank god, someone who understands me. I despise Faust. Goethe in my ass.. we not only had to read that shitty book (and write an exam about it) we also had to watch like 4 film/theatre adaptations of it, like "Lotte in Weimar" or something like that.. *cringe*

I love Theodore Fontane though. He wrote some outstanding books. "Das Fräulein von Scuderi" for example. 10 out of 10 stars. Max Frisch, Bert Brecht, Heine, Mann Germany has so many amazing books.

Oh and whats the name of Goethe's gay pal? ah yeah Friedrich Schiller.. i seriously believe they had a fling.
