Hello RnB/HipHop fans!
Thought I'd create this thread where we could talk about everything to do with our favourite artists!
Once a week or so, I'll post an artist/group and you can write just about ANYTHING about them. Just to have a general forum discussion about said artist and give recommendations, charts, best performances, fave pics etc.
The picking of the artist will be totally random by me unless you want to specifically discuss an artist then PM me and I'll add it to a list.
Artists
Brandy (Plym)
Mya (StevieFM)
Janet Jackson (Gaz_uk)
Whitney Houston (Pepster)
Faith Evans (Zuzu18)
R. Kelly (Kelly281)
Mary J. Blige (Plym)
Aaliyah (hellohello)
TLC (Gaz_uk & hellohello)
Usher
Timbaland (BanZai)
Jennifer Lopez (Star)
Destinys Child (dereon)
Jody Watley (pepster)
Kelis
Monica (preyan)
Mariah Carey
Janet Jackson (again as she has a GH out)
Alicia Keys

I think Zuzu just orgasmed....
I love Brandy, I own all her albums except the first one and they're all solid albums. I especially love her ballads
You said turn around so I cannot see your tears falling...

I adore Brandy's voice, her albums have been consistently good although not everything she's recorded has been amazing. Never Say Never is a wonderful album and "The Boy Is Mine" is probably one of my favourite songs of all time, I love Top of The World as well. Surely What About Us is also one of the best breakup songs of our time..?

No, they aren't.
Which ones are you talking about?
The Boy is Mine is classic. One of my fave RnB Joints ever.
Has anyone heard the Sittin' in My Room remix with LL Cool J? That beat is one of her best.
Talk about Our Love is wicked too. Kanye really gave her a hit with that.

The Boy is mine is classsic, also Mechki Phifer in the video *licks* but that song is a tuuuune.
From her last album I really liked ''Who is she to you'' working with Timberland is the best thing she could of done.

VERY Underrated as an artist! Afrodisiac was an amazing album, and deserved to do so much better, I wasn't crazy about Full Moon though, The majorit of its good, but its a bit too out there for me.
My fave brandy track is probably Sadiddy
Beyonce is the queen... that is all.

I used to be a Brandy fan back in the dayz.
My favourite album of her is the classic NSN, it's even my favourite album ever, i was really impressed when i have listened to it the first time!
There were so much amazing songs, all the tracks are wonderful and classic.
I love her first album too, she had a stronger voice ('love is on my side', 'i'm yours' etc)and there were many great tracks.
i prefer Full moon in the whole though, 'Like this' and 'Anybody' are my shit!
I was a lil disappointed by her last album but it grew on me a lot.
Great songs such as 'Finally', 'I tried' and 'Afrodisiac', 'Where u wanna me' and 'Should i go'.
But i miss her slow jams and the Darckchild production, so i'm glad she'll work again with him and with new producers!

I think he is talking about Have you ever, I wanna be down and Baby which did better.
I love this remix with LL Cool J! I prefer this over the original version.

Speaking of Brandy, last night I was watching an old ep of the Apollo & Brandy was performing Best Friend & Always on my mind off of her first album. She had the crowd hyped & she looked pretty cute with her lime green outfit on! She looked better when she was younger!

Love Bran & she's become very underrated in her recent years, each and everyone of her albums have been HAWT. My fav being "Full Moon" although I think "Never Say Never" was her best album. I just made my own "Best Of Brandy" the other day so i had to contribute sumthin to this thread. Before my Aaliyah obsession came to light I used to LOVE Brandy. From the days of her playing Dinesha on "Thea", right down to Moesha. I don't really like the way the industry is shitting on her now, but every artist has an album that comercially flops, and thats only so they can show and prove on the next one (ex: Mimi). I think her new album is gon be hot to death and my favorite brandy till this very DAY remains to be the original version of Brokenhearted w/ When You Touch Me following in at a close second and Put That On Everything & I Tried at 3rd and forth. I love this girl (even thou ZuZu may not think so all the time )
WHAT HAPPENED TO UKMIX ???
All the Fighting and Arguments are getting old now, lets get back to talking about the MUSIC

Great idea Plym!
Now Brandy, I own 2 of her albums "Afrodisiac" and "Never Say Never". I think "NSN" is a average album but does have great songs like "Angel In Disguise", "Almost Doesn't Count" and that Bryan Adams cover. Afrodisiac is quite a good album! I haven't heard "Full Moon" yet so I might listen to it in a minute, it did get crap reviews though so I'm not expecting much.
I think the "Boy Is Mine" is a good song but the chorus goes on a bit at the end, the song should be shorter! I think alot of songs are to long these day's.

Yahoooo lets talk Brandy! (LMAO@IMissU and ChildD)
Her biggest selling HITS!
I Wanna Be Down-Gold
Baby-Platinum
Brokenhearted-Gold
Sittin Up In My Room-Platinum
The Boy Is Mine- (4Plat WW)
Have You Ever-Gold
What About Us-Gold
Another Day In Paradise-Gold
HUGE Radio Hits- Top Of The World, Almost Doesnt Count and What About Us
She has given such diverse, quality music..each album is consistent and her voice is unparralled!
She has the 3octave voice, hits the C notes and the looww F's......she can hold her own. But where she is unmatched is the voice itself, HOW she sings, the emotions she can convey, its verstility!
Her next album gonna be blazzing! Coz she never rushes a album!

EXACTLY!
Mariah, Whitney, Mary, Faith, Diana Ross, Gladys K ect ALL had flops..al had thier lows! But they (well in the most) came back and came back hard!
Brandys working with a host of producers, doing cameo's, her own sitcom, hair lines AND a video game! Shes workin hard to come back and will AGAIN mak something good!
Full Moon wasnt a flop really, which other artist could be pregenant and still sell 1.4 million in the US with only 2 singles..and over 4million WW?!
Afrodisiac didnt sell, but its quality is undeniable!
and what i also love is that SHE CAN ACT, so when it says Singer/Actress is actually applys! Unlike ALOT of singers who try it and cant do it!

1 - Full Moon
2 - Almost Doesn't Count
3 - The Boy Is Mine
4 - I Tried
5 - What About Us
^I'd say they are her best songs....

I really love Brandy too. "Never Say Never" and "Afrodisiac" are were both excellent R&B albums, but my fave album from her is still "Full Moon".
I don't think she has the best voice in the industry by any means, but there is something really unique about her vocals.
Fave songs: Have You Ever, Full Moon, Nothing, You Don't Know Me (Like U Used To), I Tried.
"I want a man who's kind and understanding. Is that too much to ask of a millionaire?"

I love full moon and afrodisiac .these are her best to date, regarudless of how much they sold. Both still have platuinum status worldwide. I don't how try to write her, not realizing the success she has already achieved.
She has the smash hits
#1 singles
multi-platuinum selling albums
and won over 100 awards
To me she aint got nothing esle to prove.
