His new "Bring You Home" album has seen him change style dramatically from being a dull as dishwater balladeer to a refreshing and much more with it singer/songwriter (he's co-written a few of the new tracks). Although the video for "Iris" looks like a Westlife cast off, the song, a cover of the Goo Goo Dolls hit, is still a nice, acoustic-y, summery ditty, in the vein of Lee Ryan's "Turn Your Car Around". Good work Ronan.
I'm not sure what would be more shocking; Ronan Keating singing an original song or Ronan Keating making a decent fist of yet another cover version. As much as I hate to admit it, "Iris" appears to fall into the latter category, largely because it is a classic song in the first place.
