The Now! compilation – one of Britain's most hallowed musical institutions – and alas, where would the compilation shelves in our record stores be without it? OK, all poetic openings to reviews aside, the 64th edition has finally arrived for the summer, but can it do the business again?
Well actually, considering the amount of rubbish that's been around lately, this isn't too bad a Now compilation – with recent tracks by Nelly Furtado, McFly, Snow Patrol, Razorlight, Dirty Pretty Things, Matt Willis, Sugababes, Rihanna, Will Young & Girls Aloud all making an appearance.
However, if the thought of Sandi Thom and Infernal ruining a perfectly good compilation troubles you, you might be better off looking at different compilations or actual artist albums instead. Even so, all weaknesses aside, this is a very good Now album for the summer.
