The Feeling

Released: 28th August 2006.
After just one listen to "Twelve Stops And Home", one track immediately stands out like a sore thumb and shouts "this is going to be a massive single". So thank heavens they've done the sensible thing and actually released it. OK, so they're not exactly the coolest band in the world today, but this is a truly fantastic song, perfect for when you're feeling down about being single. I'm sure that even if you're in a relationship you can still sing along to this to your heart's content though - it's such an incredibly tuneful song.
The Feeling claim they take their inspiration from 'great' 70s bands such as Electric Light Orchestra and 10CC, and with this, the third single from "Twelve Stops And Home", those out-of-date influences really start to branch out. An intensely catchy, simple, feel-good anthem, "Never Be Lonely" is even better than their last two releases. It's nothing too ambitious, though the organ touches and switches from loud to quiet to help prevent it being forgettable and dull. Looks like another huge success.
