Released: 9th October 2006.

As any reality winner will tell you (with the exception of Girls Aloud & Will Young) trying to come back with a second album and shake the somewhat non-erasable tag off is no piece of cake. Especially if you're craggy faced Steve Brookstein, X Factor's first champ way back in 2004.

Undeterred to be long forgotten under the wave of hype for Shayne Ward, he's bounced back with an album that is certainly refreshing and makes a good, but not always solid attempt at breaking from the mould his record deal wanted him to be in. To his credit, he has written a large number of tracks on here including the single "Fighting Butterfiles" - think Simon Webbe meets Gary Barlow - but there is still the odd cover such as the not very good rendition of "Smile".

I doubt this will do well in the shallow and fickle world of record buying, but it's good to see he's still making a crack of it and not giving up, which, surely, if anything, shows determination.
