When I first heard this song, I thought Pharrell Williams had taken a new, funkier direction. Even in the video, the trio look like they could be members of N*E*R*D. It turns out, however, that Unklejam are actually a UK act, which is all the more surprising as I'm sure this track could hold it's own in the US if given the opportunity. Think Pharrell meets Prince meets James Brown, and you'll have some idea of what "Love Ya" is about - loads of colourful funk with a contemporary feel, and incredibly infectious to boot. These guys deserve to be huge.
