Booty Luv
|
Released: 14th May 2007.
After their massive success with "Boogie 2Nite", the Big Brovaz girls are back with another obscure-ish cover. Originally by the late Luther Vandross, "Shine" wasn't a big hit in the UK when posthumously released last year. So in the same way as the Tweet track, the Booty Luv cover is a revamped, remixed version of an R&B song (sounding not unlike the Freemason's remix of Luther's version) that will give it the recognition it deserves. It's incredibly upbeat and catchy, and works great on both the radio and dancefloors alike - in fact, I haven't been able to get it out of my head for weeks! A superb follow up.

After the success of Booty Luv's first single "Boogie 2Nite", a second single was of course inevitable - and to be on the safe side, it's a cover. It's not unlikely that your thoughts on this single depend on whether or not you know the original, sung by the late Luther Vandross and lifted from his latest greatest hits album. If you don't know the original, then this is a great disco tune, with clever lyrics and good vocals from Big Brovaz singers Cherise Roberts and Nadia Shepherd. However, if you have heard Luther's version (the original or, even better, the Freemasons remix), then this Booty Luv cover is simply no patch on the real thing.
