At a recent American gig, Elton John said that "Songs From The West Coast" was to be his last record (something he later claimed as 'him having a bad day'). If this is true, then he leaves us with one of his best singles ever. It looks back over what has been an amazing career, with lines like "I used to be the mad express, all steaming whistles heading west". The video features Justin Timberlake as Elton and shows his more youthful era. A quality single from one of the greatest ever performers.

Here comes Elton John with his second single from the album "Songs From The West Coast", which was kept off the top spot by Kylie Minogue's "Fever". The last single, "I Want Love", wasn't all that bad, but this song is miserable. The music is dreary and the video is poor - dress up Justin from *N Sync as Elton and that will do. Not likely! I hope this doesn't make the Top 10, it really is the worst song so far this year.
