Released: 31st March 2008.
Oxford's finest return with the second proper single from their groundbreaking "In Rainbows" album. Accordingly, this song spent over ten years in the making: no lying here, as this typically slow-burning affair sounds very reminiscent of earlier classics such as "No Surprises". However, it's still a fine track from the band, and provides a showcase for Thom Yorke's falsetto vocals. Unfortunately, the album has been out for a while now, so I doubt it will trouble the singles chart.
Radiohead are back with the next single from their "In Rainbows" album. Despite being a little awkward sounding for most, this is probably the song most likely to get noticed by a market outside of their usual fanbase since the days of "OK Computer". That's much to the fact it's been heavily used on cult TV show "Skins". However, while Gossip's "Standing In The Way Of Control" was being blasted out of stereos and clubs last year, this follows the more traditional Radiohead sound and works much better in the early hours of the morning with a cup of tea. Helped by Thom Yorke's beautiful, haunting vocals, it reaches its climax on the final, piercing note, which is where the magic is finally released.
