"Shoot The Dog" is released amid huge controversy, particularly surrounding its hilarious animated video. But the song itself is poor in comparison to most of his back catalogue. The figurative lyrics are the only real selling point of the song, but these are concealed by the annoying warped vocals, which do "Shoot The Dog" no favours. It's hard to estimate how successful the song will be, but it should make Top 10 at the very least.
