Atomic Kitten's new single is a cover of the famous Blondie No. 1, "The Tide Is High". At first, I wasn't quite sure whether it was a song worth covering, but after a couple of plays I felt that they'd done it justice. Giving it the full Atomic Kitten treatment, this is a very catchy mid-tempo number that's been played a fair deal in clubs around the country. Much better than Billie Piper's version, it promises another high charting for the girls!

"The Tide Is High" is a cover of Blondie's 1980 No. 1. Atomic Kitten don't sing particularly well on the track, and thus don't present a faithful reworking of the song. Their added lyrics are interesting and gel quite well, but ultimately it isn't their strongest release. Having said that though, it will almost certainly be one of their biggest hits, and a sure fire No. 1.
