You might remember Angelic ("It's My Turn", "Can't Keep Me Silent") being the vocals of Mrs Judge Jules with the production of Darren Tate. However, for this release, Darren's going it alone, and with an unusual name change too. Though primarily a trance track, "The Theme" doesn't contain most of the clichéd sound you'd expect from something typical of the genre - the selling point here is that it's an instrumental based around an incredibly infectious electronic, er, swirl. It's been massive in the clubs for months, and a big hit looks likely.

The debut single from Jurgen Vries, otherwise known as Darren Tate, is an interestingly different slice of swirling electronica. It's surprisingly haunting and memorable, even after many listens. "The Theme" is very repetitive though, and much better instrumentals have been done before. The track could be vastly improved if there were vocals added, but it should make the Top 20 anyway.
