Single number three from the "Be Not Nobody" album, and after the first two, it only really required putting the song titles in a hat and picking one at random. None of the rest are really obvious single choices, but are all reasonably decent songs. Vanessa's gone for a slightly more edgy alternative track than her previous ones this time, and might appeal to a slightly different audience if she's lucky. As this week is a good deal easier than the run up to Christmas, she might just have a Top 40 hit on her hands.
Vanessa Carlton, who had a huge hit with "A Thousand Miles" last year and a smaller one with "Ordinary Day", is back with the third cut from her debut album. "Pretty Baby" is an amazing slice of pop, of course lead by amazing piano played by the singer. It's a wondrous ballad that'll make you like it instantly and never let go! In my opinion, it deserves to make the Top 10, but it'll be lucky to get that far.
