You've got to hand it to Avril. Determined not to be pigeon-holed into some rock category, she's done the unexpected and released a ballad. And what a ballad it is! This is miles better than her last two singles and is a contender for single of the year. Her voice excels on the song, especially when it reaches its climax. Expect this to emulate the Top 10 successes of previous hits "Complicated" and "Sk8er Boi", and well deserved too!

Avril Lavigne seems to have shocked me, if not many others, with the consistent quality of her singles! After "Complicated", I doubted she'd be able to come up with anything as good or catchy, and both singles since have proved me wrong. "I'm With You" is one of the most commercial tracks on her album, and gives Avril a chance to display her voice, rather than just dive around the stage. A brilliant rock ballad, and it looks like she's going to get even bigger.
