It's been over a year since Steps split up. While H & Claire have had minor successes, Lisa's been biding her time. Now, she's finally ready to make an impact on the charts, and if this song is anything to go by, the impact will be huge! "Lately" is a crossover dance song with huge hints of pop mixed in for good measure. She might not have the strongest voice, but this song suits her perfectly. Overall, this is a great tune, and it looks like Lisa will be having the last laugh over her former bandmates!

Rather than choosing to follow the PWL-esque path of ex-bandmates H & Claire, "Lately" is a slickly produced piece of disco-infected pop. With a strong, Minogue-like element to the production, this track is awash with pops, whooshes and sexy vocals that make it stand out against much current chart fare. The radio edit perhaps lacks the all out dancefloor sparkle of the storming Soda Club remix, but is more than enough to satisfy Ellis-Bextor and Minogue fans across the land. Impressive and full of potential!
