Released: 15th December 2003.
30 years ago, Slade released what would become the defining Christmas rock anthem - "Merry Christmas Everybody". Now, in the era where the only Noddy challenging for a chart place is the Enid Blyton creation, it's left for the new kings of glam rock to take the battle in their own hands. This is about as cool as you could possibly get for a Christmas hit this year, and it's going down a storm. There's never been a better time for The Darkness to get that long-eluded No. 1 single, as this festive offering is one of the best Christmas songs ever made.
One of the success stories of 2003, The Darkness are one of the biggest rock bands at the moment. For their latest single, the guys have recorded a brand new Christmas track which looks likely to become a classic in years to come. Singing in the only way he knows how, Justin sounds brilliant on the best Christmas song of the year! Whether this will manage to go straight to the top of the chart remains to be seen, but it wraps up a great year for The Darkness, and should ensure they continue to be big in 2004.
