Courtney Love - MonoIt's been five years since the last release from Hole, and frontwoman Courtney Love has since decided to go it alone. This first single from "America's Sweetheart" has been delayed on many occasions, no doubt due to her 'personal issues' of late, but don't let that put you off. If you liked the "Celebrity Skin" album, you're certain to like this. The punk rock sound of "Mono" more or less follows on from where that album left off, complete with Courtney's screechy, snarly vocals and catchy guitar riffs. From this evidence, not much has changed musically in the time she's been away, but that's no bad thing.

Courtney Love is back, and boy do we know it. She may have personal problems, but that doesn't seem to show in her music. "Mono" is a top, hard rocking song, her first release as a solo artist and a good one at that. I'm not a fan of Courtney, but I am a fan of good music, and this will fit nicely in my CD collection between Nirvana and "The Smurfs Go Pop".
