22-20s
|
Released: 5th April 2004.
The 22-20s are a trio of young men from Lincoln who play their own brand of blues-rock. "Why Don't You Do It For Me?" is their first studio release, following last year's brilliant live album "05/03". They've stuck to the same formula as before, but with a more polished sound, which takes away some of the appeal. Still, it's a decent debut, and hopefully there'll be lots more to come.
Good question... does this really do it for me or not? It's very much a grower - when I first heard it, I found it very bland. After a few listens, you get to appreciate just how great it really is. If this is anything to go by, the 22-20s look set to follow The Zutons in this new style of cool music that's around.
