The Corrs

Released: 17th May 2004.
Andrea, Caroline, Sharon and Jim make their eagerly awaited comeback this week with "Summer Sunshine", taken from their fourth studio album "Borrowed Heaven". Sticking to their more commercial sound (used before on their previous album "In Blue"), "Summer Sunshine" is an upbeat pop/rock song, easily their best since "Breathless". It begins with some singalong verses, before literally exploding into a stomping, shiny and memorable chorus. After ditching their old, traditional sound, The Corrs could have become a little predictable, but as long as they keep can bringing out songs as tremendously catchy as this one, it doesn't matter in the slightest.

The first cut from The Corrs' forthcoming "Borrowed Heaven" album is just as inoffensive and radio-friendly as before, but is a little feistier. Andrea's wonderfully pure voice really stands out on this one, but it loses something by ditching their tried and tested traditional Irish influences.
