3 Of A Kind
|
Released: 9th August 2004.
We've finally been given the first big UK garage anthem of 2004. "Baby Cakes" certainly reminds me of the garage golden era (2000), and that can only be a good thing. Cool beats and a great melody cannot fail to impress, even if the vocals may be slightly annoying at times. Very catchy, and a smash hit for sure.

Four years after the UK garage scene was at its biggest, 3 Of A Kind randomly appear, putting all their hopes into a sudden reincarnation. Unfortunately their terribly weak debut, "Baby Cakes", just doesn't compare to such classics as "Woman Trouble", "21 Seconds" or "Ain't No Stoppin' Us". It's the latest in a cringe-worthy line up of teen craze songs, casting more embarrassment on an ever decaying music industry. It's a watery, repetitive piece of trash, which is bound to stick around the Top 10 for longer than it's worth.
