"And so it is, just like you said it would be". Such a fragile opening to such an incredibly beautiful song. Without a doubt the greatest song on "O", it's taken quite some time for this amazing ballad to get a release. The emotion in this song is phenomenal, the performance, spellbinding, and all in all, it's quite simply a truly beautiful love song. Well, until the added 10 seconds on the single version and the B-Side, which are filled with masses of hate, but I guess they had to be included like that because of the storyline of the film it's currently in.
From his exceptional album "O", Damien Rice could well come up with one of the surprise hits of the Christmas period. Sounding incredibly brooding, intense and reflective, "The Blower's Daughter" might not have the edge on the wonderful "Cannonball", but is just right for this time of year.
