Atomic Kitten
|
Released: 10th November 2003.
The Kittens are back with another album of cheesy chick-flick power ballads and disco floorfillers.
The album is much more directed at women than previous offerings (note the word "women" and not "young girls"). The opening two tracks are covers, and not brilliant ones at that. "Be With You" is utterly pointless, and the title track is one for the girls at the office parties.
Standout tracks are "Believer", which Tash belts out, "Everything Goes Around", co-written by Jenny and featuring fantastic swing-like melodies, and "Someone Like Me", a simple yet effective ballad to conclude the album.
The rest of the album cries out "average", and there isn't much that sets this apart from "Feels So Good" and "Right Now", except for Tash's ever-changing hairstyle.
Hairbrush-weilding chick-flick fans will find this album suited to them, as opposed to the under-10 girls who would normally give the Kittens a good thought with their pocket money.
