The Brand New Heavies
|
Released: 17th January 2000.
This idea had potential. Originally a fantastic single by the Young Disciples, a group once fronted by Carleen Anderson. Now that she's lead singer with the Brand New Heavies, it was a logical choice for the band to cover. Unfortunately, much of what made the song so good (most notably the bassline) is gone, resulting in an average sounding effort. Like I said, it had potential...

I must admit I was expecting something more from the Brand New Heavies. This song just doesn't grab me - maybe it's because of their new lead singer, whose vocals I'm not sure I like. Compared to their previous releases, this one loses big time. A disappointment.
