We should really be grateful to Dundee University for being responsible for some of the finest melodic indie-pop gems of the past 2-3 years - Spitting Games, Run, Chocolate, How To Be Dead...the list goes on.
The graduates - Snow Patrol - return with their fourth studio album with a new guitarist and a keyboardist.
The albums opens on the single "You're All I Have", which musically and lyrically is up there with "Spitting Games" in levels of greatness. Also worth noting are the anthemic "Hands Open", "Chasing Cars" and "Shut Your Eyes".
Doubt no more that they can make it without Mark McCelland, for this will be somewhere in the Top 10 bestselling albums of 2006. Just wait and see.
