Released: 17th July 2006.
Despite the success of their movie debut alongside Lindsay Lohan in "Just My Luck", the McFly boys haven't had it easy lately with nudity scandals and the like. Does that affect the music at all? No. This, their double A-Side effort for Sport Relief, is a great offering, and is a return to the old McFly we had on the first album. Coupled with a great video and cause to it, this should give them not only their fifth No. 1 on Sunday, but a promising start to their third album, out later this year.
McFly return with their tenth single and their third double A-Side. The first song is "Please, Please", which comes straight off McFly's starring role in the new Lindsey Lohan movie "Just My Luck". It's a fairly good, upbeat pop/rock combination, with slight elements from the classic 60s glam rock period. Then there's the second song, "Don't Stop Me Now", a Queen classic re-worked by the boys. Following Queen covers by Electric Six, G4 and the Crazy Frog, it's nice to hear a decent cover of a track which DEMANDS you sing along. This version is, in my opinion, just as good as the original, though some sceptics may believe McFly's voices don't fit the song. This CD is also the official Sport Relief release, so buy it and help make a difference!
