GRYBOP's top 10 of 2003 - Music from all over the world

I'm not sure whether I should post this in the dance forum, considering that you could dance to at least half of the tracks I'm about to present to you, but anyway, here it goes.
Oh, something else: As I've said somewhere before, my chart is not only comprised of singles, nor of songs that were strictly released within 2003.

For #10, songs like Simply red's Fake and Plummet's Damaged were considered, but...

    10

Noir desir - Le vent nous portera

Mesmerizing ballad by one of the finest rock bands in France.
Released a couple of years ago, but I only first heard it last January.

    9

    Mikro - Gefyra

The best electronic band in Greece offered this haunting dance number this year.

    8

Bertine Zetlitz - Girl like you

One of the most beautiful pop songs this year comes from Norway.

    7

    Venus hum - Montana

My 7th favourite song this year comes from the USA. I've raved on enough about this group so I won't bore you with any other comments of praise about them.

    6

    Moloko - Familiar feeling

    Next stop : UK
Both the album version and the Robbie Riviera mix of this song are superb pieces of music. Spent 3 weeks at the top of my chart at the very start of this year and I still love it.
And yes, Roisin is a goddess in her own right.

    More later.

I heard a few songs from Venus Hum, and although they're not my usual cup of tea, I love those previews of their music.

Cool to have you back George.

^^ Thanx David, but I'll be coming and going for a long time.
Thank you all for your comments!
            Movin' on...

            5

            Freyia - .....Mist...

Chaotic dance track from Italy .
But we're not done with this country yet

            4

            Alpinestars - NuSex city

Back to the UK for #4, where Alpinestars sing about bright lights and girls.
Absolutely superb mix of electronica and rock.

            3

            Telepopmusik - Breathe

Over to France and Telepopmusik, whose catchy laid back little tune entranced me lots of times during the summer.
Italy and Russia are up next...

            2

Benny Benassi presents the Biz - Satisfaction

Masochism, repetitiveness, faceless voices; at least I was satisfied.

            1

            Nichya - Nichya

It entered my chart exactly one year ago and stayed there for three months.
