Lady Gaga :: The “Chromatica” Era

I think it is doing really good considering she was not a streaming force before ASIB. And the song is totally different from her recent hits like Shallow or Million reasons.

20 million for the music video!
29/02
YouTube:
#1 Canada (+4)
#1 United Kingdom (+5)
#4 United States (+2)
#5 Australia (=)
Youtube is counted for charts in those four countries.
According to Kworb:
YouTube United States Daily Chart - 2020/02/29The last figure means it has increased 864k from the previous day, so it had 2,745,582 on 28 Feb and thus the US total is 6.3 million for those two days, or are those 3,610,357 cumulative from 28 and 29 Feb?4 +2 Lady Gaga - Stupid Love 3,610,357 +864,77
I never check these YouTube charts so I have no clue.

Drake released two tracks but don't know if they're available on streaming. He's no threat in UK but might be in US.

Ultimately, they want to drive traffic to their site and interest in their updates - these headlines assist with that. I do think however that beredy is right in that she has no chance - a shame really as The Weeknd has already had his time at the top and a return to #1 would’ve set this era off on the best footing for Gaga.

how do you think sending the single to the pop& HAC radio will effect it? can it give it a big boost?
“At this rate Amazon could trump Apple for second place in 2020. It has already done so in a number of major music markets, including Germany, the UK and Japan – three of the world’s top four recorded music markets.“

Does anybody know where we can see Amazon charts online? Or can somebody check the app in the UK?

Any other person following charts knows how charts work and that new entries usually fall compared to 1st midweeks.
And I honestly never read their articles, I only look at raw numbers in the midweeks thread here, so it might be a thing they do and if it is then it's highly dumb. If you haven't posted, bolded and used huge font here I wouldn't have seen this article either

This will just give ammo with people saying "LG was supposed to finish #1 and she didn't even make it TOP 3 LOL". Highly irresponsible.

Lady Gaga challenging for UK Number 1 single with Stupid Love
Lady Gaga’s comeback song Stupid Love is battling for the UK’s Official Number 1 this week.
The lead single from the Oscar winner’s upcoming sixth album (possibly titled Chromatica) is at Number 2 on today’s Official Chart: First Look.
The Official Chart: First Look, on BBC Radio 1 today between 6pm – 7pm, offers a first glance of the Top 20 ahead of Friday’s Official Singles Chart Top 100. The chart is based on preliminary sales and early streaming reports.
Stupid Love is just shy of 1,200 chart sales behind the Number 1 spot, currently occupied by The Weeknd’s Blinding Lights after two days of downloads and streams. The Weeknd has the edge on streaming, with Gaga ahead on downloads. Stupid Love is on track to become Lady Gaga’s 13th UK Top 10 single, and first since her chart-topping collaboration Shallow with Bradley Cooper from the A Star Is Born soundtrack.

Yep, Roses will catch that difference and BL will continue to pull away. No numbers for #4 and #5?

Did they include points this time? If so we can probably calculate if she can hit TOP 5 or not.

There's usually at least a day of lag when it comes to streaming points being added to midweek and also only some streaming services get added, not all in these midweek previews. Usually the Tuesday report is what's good for the final chart (unless it's a really close battle, but this won't be).

IMO, after the initial hype and fans streaming/buying it, this song would need A LOT of airplay and exposure for GP to get it… It's an easy pop tune, but not for everybody.
So I expect it to keep falling from now on, then stabilize and we'll see what happens next…
Hope she promotes a bit now and don't let all promo to the album release week.
By the way, BBC Radio 1 is now airing The Official Chart: First Look on Radio 1, which, according to OCC:
The new show, The Official Chart: First Look, will broadcast between 6pm - 7pm in the historic Sunday slot, providing the earliest possible glance at the Official Singles Chart based on early sales and stream reports - ahead of the regular weekly Friday rundown hosted by Scott Mills.
We'll find out where she is in these 1st midweeks "officialy" in like 10 minutes.

Spotify streams:
Friday
BL 535k ~ 3.57k sales
SL 342k ~ 2.3k sales
Saturday
BL 526k ~ 3.5k sales
SL 260k ~ 1.71k sales
So these past two days BL has an advantage of 3.06k sales from the streams in the UK. That's only from Spotify, so there's also other stream services where BL is leading too. Other songs will catch up on SL too with streaming.

Blinding Lights is #1 on Spotify and AM in UK, though, so probably #1 once streaming is added, but the difference on sales is quite big. so we'll see!
