RIAA's rule on streams/hits albums:

For certifications for Greatest Hit albums, only track sales and streams that occur after Greatest Hits albums’ release date can count towards RIAA album certifications. If the label chooses to have track sales and streams applied towards Greatest Hits certifications, then those track sales and streams are precluded from future inclusion in the original studio album. The RIAA and GR&F will require labels to confirm in writing that no track sales and streams are counted towards both a studio album and a Greatest Hits album, and the RIAA and GR&F may request additional testing of system reports to ensure validity. Due to the complicated nature of monitoring whether a track sale and/or stream has already been considered for album certification, Greatest Hits audits may require significant delays in the certification process.

I doubt her label would do that - I also doubt she'd be multi-platinum, even if they did?

See, why over complicate matters? Upload the studio album. Upload the GH. Different streamed tracks and different artwork... just technically the same song.

Celebration in the USA consisted of two releases. A one cd release and a 2cd release.

500k sold/shipped does not automatically equal 1xP.

300k of the 1cd release = 300k
200k of the 2cd release = 400k

700k. Not enough for 1xP = the traditional way of doing RIAA certs.

With streaming, maybe. Only if Guy Oseary/Madonna request an updated certification.

Madonna announces new single Beautiful Game
Madonna has teamed up with Mirwais for the new song, the producer who worked on her American Life and Music albums.

Madonna has announced her new single Beautiful Game.
The legendary popstar confirmed the exciting news on social media today (May 17), confirming that the song is "coming soon".

Madonna has reunited with Mirwais on the song, the producer behind her American Life and Music albums.
Beautiful Game has already been performed live, prompting speculation that an official release would follow soon. Madonna debuted the song to close out the 2018 Met Gala in New York City.

When was the last time that they certified an album of her? MDNA in 2012?

Now if you want to discuss that, then fine - a million for platinum is ludicrous (and I think that's reflected in the subsequent drop to 600,000 in January 1989). But she is not under certified, except for where her singles have sold more than the required certification level of the day and haven't been certified.

She is undercertified, though, since Warners has the right to apply for older certifications to be upgraded according to the new thresholds, yet they've chosen not to do so. If "Into The Groove" only has a Gold certification (based on sales of 500k), yet it's eligible for Platinum (based on 600k), then it is, technically (and officially), undercertified. Ditto for anything else that doesn't have a certification for which it's eligible.

Doesn't Warners have to initiate that, though? I doubt very much that Madonna or Guy contacted the BPI (or even Warners UK) and specifically requested that they certify TPOG (although I also don't understand why that particular single was "singled" out for certification now).

For some reason, the 12x Platinum accreditation for The Immaculate Collection in Australia has popped in the 2002 ARIA albums accreditation page lol.

Also Just found put That GHV2 actually is 2x Platinum there.

Wikipedia has GHV2 at 1xP so maybe it's re-certified?
