i never said that madonna dosen't have have any streamed song from her in the 00's, i just answered your quiestion, and the answer was that there are more examples. by the way, you are the one who started to compare and you are the one who is attacking me, i didn't do any comparison.
now i actually understand more why her 80's songs are batter in general, but i must admit some of her songs preformence(espcielly frozen and music) is still confusing me.
thanks for anyone who answered me

    • If you told me those streams 4 Minutes has were actually for Music I would believe you.

To me it's not odd that Frozen doesn't have that many streams since it's more out there and weird, but I'd say the song Ray of Light is way higher up there in my mind since it's so commercial, and so 90s in a time now where 90s nostalgia is huge.

wow both La Isla Bonita and Papa Don't Preach had a nice increase in average since the last few weeks , +45k/+46k respectively
maybe they were used in one of those #throwbackthursday playlists?

        edit: i don't know why i didn't quote you @UnapologeticKenny

        • Perhaps because PDP is being sung in the Madame X tour.

i know friday is the biggest day for streaming but they used to do 90k and 35k at best before so is quite remarcable. the real question is why?

Yes, I noticed that too. I was going to ask if anyone knew the reason why, but apparently no one does. It might be some playlist inclusion.

PS. You probably deleted the beginning of the "quote code". I almost did that right now.

so according to "Spot On Track" PDP (album version) was added to "all out 80s" playlist four days ago but it has been changing positions from 75 to 99 . Also lets not forget the the playlist is personalised (any user has a different order) so the impact is variable.
                don't know about LAB.

                • I checked and to me Papa is the first song on the playlist and LIB is also there... That's nice... Any increase is good.

PS Madonna is on the cover for me, don't know if the photo is personalized too.

                    • I'm sure if Spotify was more widely used in Latin America La Isla Bonita would be way higher up on her top 15, but it's doing great

I think the decades of not doing Papa Don't Preach justice in performances has made it be such a lesser known hit.

Off topic, but is Spotify really that low in Latin America? Mexico and Brazil are huge, and daily streams in Argentina and Chile are not that far from countries like Australia or Canada.

I mean compared to looking up songs on youtube. As far as I know, people in Latin America mainly listen to music on YouTube, rarely on the free version of spotify. Also it does change with demographics, I feel younger people do use Spotify more, but those are not the ones nostalgic about La Isla Bonita. I do believe it'd be her most streamed song like it is on youtube otherwise

also, La Isla Bonita on YouTube:
                              (03/10/2019): 284,559
                              (04/10/2019): 332,524
                              (05/10/2019): 364,848

Looks like the other version not being there has definitely helped, 300K daily is huge for one song

it was realesed in 1990 but i since it's just the beginning of the 90's i think many people are confused thinking it's was released in the late 80's. it's also sound a little 80's for me so i can understand why people think like that

I consider 1990 as still part of the 80's and I know I'm not the only one. In many countries the decades are counted from the years ending in ...1.
Besides, Vogue is not Madonna's biggest hit.

Many fans consider "Vogue" the end / closure of her 80s era / period. I do consider it as part of the 90s though, however that's just 1 song, it's literally her only real or major classic from the 90s against like a dozen of 80s classics she has.

Out of those only "Frozen" could pass as a Madonna classic.

We as fans love all of those songs but being objective here for the GP most of her 90s singles are not really big classics.

I'd say other than "Vogue" the only other two songs from the 90s that could be M (inferior to Vogue) classics may be "Frozen" and "Justify My Love".

No one is downplaying her success and sorry but this is chart analysis, if we go by actual stats (which is the only thing that can be meassured) we can deduce which songs are clearly being more remembered than others. Let's be real a song like "Erotica" has 3,6 million streams on Spotify (clearly forgotten if you ask me) and it's delusional to think it's a classic only because you are a fan or because you're preased about someone else's opinion. The numbers and stats suggest a lot and honestly "Erotica" is literally one of my Top 10 favorite Madonna singles at this moment but just because of that I don't have to be out there claiming it is a classic, the song it's definitely not showing the pattern of a classic not on the same page of (her real classics) "Material Girl", "Like A Prayer", "Like A Virgin", "La Isla Bonita", "Vogue", etc.

Was "Erotica" a hit? Of course it was ... Does that mean it is a classic? Not really.
