Nope, that was the all time Top Hot 100 Artists if i remember correctly. She is the solo artist with most top 10 hits (38 i guess) so she's right behind The Beatles on that one. I think what makes the difference might be Mariah's #1 hits and the amount of weeks they spend on #1. The more #1 hits you have, the more points you gain.

Hmm, this is partially untrue.
Madonna definitely has more points on the Billboard Hot 100 (second only to the Beatles), but she doesn't really have that much points from the Billboard 200.

Let me remind you guys that Madonna is #1 on the Greatest Billboard Hot 100 Women Artists, but only #5 on the Greatest Billboard 200 Women Artists (behind Barbra, TayTay, Mariah, and even Whitney).

On the other hand, Mariah is #2 on the Greatest Billboard Hot 100 Women Artist, and #3 on the Billboard 200 Women Artists. Her performances are almost equally huge on both charts.

Hence why Mariah is ahead of Madonna when points of both charts combined, she's much stronger on the album chart than Madge's.

Someone should ask Billboard about this. Even if they add other charts, Mariah would still have advantage as she did well on Rhythmic , Urban, AC, Hot AC, Urban AC and may have charted a few songs on Dance charts.

Madonna is not even in the top-ten of the Billboard 200 artists of all time, so in total Mariah would clearly win.
