What I've heard is that her movie it's about her life until early 90's only - so only hits from that period would be featured and see Streaming boosts.

If the film is successful enough they will most likely do a sequel (like they want to do for Freddy Mercury/Queen bio-pic). Most non-disclosure agreements are 10 to 20 years so the second film may end with "Superbowlt" to include"Hung Up", her Guy Richie divorce and "American Life backlash" (and be released on 2030) - by then her later 90's and 00's may have a streaming surge as well.

Elton John had an increase also after his movie but not as big. It will all depend on how good that film really is and how will do at Box Office.

When Madonna is dies her streams will also increase brutally like we have never seen before. People will remember and celebrate her as they do with all dead artists. She will also be much more explored by Record Companies that only have a catalog to manage (and some unreleased tracks) as new music can't be done. It happens to everybody but there wasn't anyone as big as her to die since Michael Jackson passed.
Honestly, I don't see the movie doing much for her at all. There has been so much written about her and she was really the first celebrity of her kind. She lived her life very publicly and she is known for that. I think the majority of the public is just tired of her. She was A list in the public eye through three decades--80s, 90s and 00s. I don;'t think any other pop star ever mantained that kind of success via new music like she did. And she did it while being older than her competition. But now, the public is just tired of her. I do think her death will improve her streams, not to Michael Jackson levels, but still better than she's doing now.

I've always thought the streaming numbers for her 80s hits were a bit lower because the music is just so dated to the 80s. So people only listen to it when they are in the mood for nostalgia, or having an 80s party or whatever. Whereas songs like Hung Up are still fun and fresh to listen to at any time, so I'm not surprised to see it as her top gaining song. I also think Frozen is a good example of a timeless song that isn't dated. Other than those two, most of her catalogue doesn't sound fresh enough listen to unless you are specifically in the mood for nostalgia.
I'e heard a lot of people say Madonna's 80s singles are dated but I don't really think they are. Maybe I'm biased but I just don't hear that. Yes, the ALBUMS are dated but not the classic singles like Holiday, La Isla Bonita, Live to Tell, Like a Prayer, etc. I don't see how these singles have aged worse than, say, the singles from Thriller or Bad. Those singles sound just as "80s" as Madonna's hits.

Michael really only has two songs that are much much higher than Madonna's biggest songs, and those are Billie Jean and Beat it, which both have more of a rock/funk production. His 80s sound is not like Madonna's pure pop 80s sound. That's my theory at least.

I don't think the film ends early 90's as Evita seemed to be a big part of the screenplay and that was happening around 1996.

If that's the case it may end with her winning the Golden Globe as Best Actress or her daugher birth (and there is only a second film later)...
Now I'm not sure of anything anymore

This film is really being anticipated and most people from 10 to 100 are curious to see the movie. Some to know what secrets will be revelead and as a reminder of old times and many new kids because they are intrigued with Madonna as many hear a lot about her but know little (and media will probably be all over this movie if promotion go finally right!).

These sales estimation seem all SUPER LOW in total and for OTS even more (There are a lot of countries missing there... really A LOT!)

I mean... even MEDIATRAFFIC have higher numbers for both "Like a Prayer" and "Hung Up" without Streaming that are over a decade old based on pure sales when the songs were charting

                          Does someone have better estimations?

All sales with streaming today are "points" or "equivalent sales" as in some countries for certifications purposes 100 streams is 1 song sales but in others 150 streams are 1 song sale... and in the future who knows. One thing are sales, other are certifications... and other are streams (that in no way are sales despite giving labels some money).

A song would probably need to have over 2000 strreams to generate as much dollars as 1 real sales generates (as that stream always count twice for both singles and albums charts/certifications).

What? Mediatraffic uses airplay and sales as a point system. It always has for songs. It has nothing to do with equivalent sales.

They use OFFICIAL CHART and sales from all around the world so all sales only (and streams now too) except for US Billboard HOT 100 that uses airplay on the Official chart as have always used.

During the 00's they used to say SALES UNITS and not POINTS. They only changed after streaming era (they methodology have been chaging along the time but all older songs those points are sales only - including "Like a Prayer" and "Hung Up"..

Show me where they say older songs are sales only. Because I am 80% sure they have always used airplay from all around the world. Also you can read in their methology section and it says nothing about airplay being only from the US. In fact it lists all the countries where it uses airplay.

Mate, I remember reading that site over 15 years ago (since I found it for the first time) and it was sales only - it was written there but you don't have to take my word for it, just confirm on their facebook account as it was also there somewhere a few years back.
