As it had only been charting in France I didn't find it interesting to post, but it re-entered in Belgium yesterday, so...

    France #73 (+2) - 71.298
    Belgium #195 (RE) - 7.344

Erotica Confessions Video hit 8 million recently. It's my favorite version of the song.

"True Blue" should be streamed more, that's a real classic.
You don't like it? It did got to #02 in UK in 1985 and again at #02 in 1991 so many people certainly like it.
In UK it's Madonna 6th best selling song ever (including streaming equivalents) and will become Madonna 6th million seller in 2023 or 2024 almost certainly!

"Hung Up" should get to 1 million later in 2022 or during 2023.

how dare is it the same? I think billboard is becoming a total joke nowadays and they are refusing the past history themselves.
actually quite pathetic and desperate move to build current artists and charts as more valuable legacy. Ridiculous.
you just sound old and bitter.

times change and so do methods of consumption, you're just complaining about the new model without suggesting something that would be better.
if you're insinuating that the chart should be sales only than the conversation ends here because no one in their right mind would think the charts would be representative of what's actually popular if they excluded streaming, the biggest format of music consumption by far nowadays.

or would you want the recurrent rule to come back despite it being a very stupid rule for an albums chart which is why it got removed in the first place?

i guess a better option would be revising all the weekly 1982-2009 issues including albums that were wrongly excluded from catalog charting, but it's just not feasible, the data is probably just lost or extremely hard to collect and for what? it's not worth the resources and time cause obviously no one really cares.

madonna having 1,100 weeks in the context of the pure sales era + recurrent rule is obviously more impressive than newer acts doing it. data doesn't need to reflect that in its raw form, it reflects how impressive it is in its context ( a song from 1980 having 300m streams obviously is more impressive than a 2010 song having 500m streams)

If the album fell out the TOP 100 for 1 week and was already over 2 years old would be removed from the chart FOREVER.

During the 80's with 4 albums Adele would much probably have never accumulated more than 416 weeks (best case scenario) as the albums would be removed not to chart again. Same with many Taylor Swift albums returning to the charts for many weeks 2 years after release.

This is a fact and what's exactly happening now. Billboard is mingling apples and oranges too. Thats what they are doing while they are different for their absurd chart survival game. Im not changing my opinion. I don't have to.

I know some fans hate on it, but 4 Minutes really is that enduring hit. 14 years later and it’s still at the top end of all her streaming charts.

She is doing very well ( despite slowing down in tha last couple of weeks)

Today is indeed the first day ( after 3 months in a row with + 2mil daily views on her official channel) where she drop below 2 mil views…..a great result anyway, if u think that no other of the big divas has been able to reach 2 mil mark in the last 3 months, even for a day!!
