Guys, a question ChartMasters have 197M pure sales on Madonna and Wayne numbers are 210M+ for sure I know Madonna is the only female to sell 200M+ albums what is correct? To their own CSPC formula I see Madonna falling out of top 10 sooner or later but the formula in itself doesn't make any sense to me in real world but I am here to know the sales as 2 different numbers have been thrown around

on this page she sold 146.45 million albums and 64.42 million Other LPs including compilation albums and VHS.
That's 210.87 million pure units for both audio albums & video albums.

Why physical singles from the album were not allowed to count as 1 Unit for certification purposes.
It's unfair to pre-digital era artists.

RIAA RULES FOR ALBUM:10 permanent track downloads from the album count as 1 Unit for certification purposes.

True Blue sold about 2.5 million physical singles in US.

If 2 physical singles from the album count as 1 Unit for certification purposes,True Blue would be 9X platinum.

And LAV,LAP will both upgrade a level.
