    This is based on the original chart ratio when streams were incorporated (100:1 aka 100 streams equals 1 download). The OCC now go by a new ratio (150:1).

    Great!

    Fantastic to see Into the Groove almost hitting one million in total units and all of her top ten UK sellers almost having units equivalent to a Platinum certification. 4 Minutes is just a touch shy of it at #10. All of the songs in the top twenty were at least top three hits.

    From http://www.officialcharts.com:

    Madonna's Top 20 biggest songs on the Official Chart.

    There is no arguing with facts: Madonna is the most successful female chart act of all time.

    Since her very first hit in 1984 (Holiday) she's notched up 71 Top 40 singles, of which 63 went Top 10, including a record-breaking 13 Number 1 hits, and has earned herself the title of Queen of Pop, and master of reinvention. Take a look at 60 incredible Madonna chart facts

    Looking at Madonna's all-time Top 20, which takes into account physical sales, downloads, and streams, her oldest song to make the cut is her early signature song. Holiday, on 878,000 combined sales, was Madonna's first hit, reaching Number 6 in early 1984, and has outpeaked itself twice upon re-release – hitting Number 2 in 1985 and Number 5 in 1991.

    Her most recent entry in the all-time chart is also her most recent Number 1. Justin Timberlake duet 4 Minutes, which was the first time Madonna had allowed a featured artist credit on one of her singles, hit the top in 2008, and has a tally of 597,000.

    Top of the shop is Into The Groove, becoming another milestone hit for Madonna. Her first Number 1, Into The Groove was taken from Desperately Seeking Susan, which gave Madonna her first lead role in a movie, and has racked up 957,000 across physical, downloads and streaming equivalent sales.

    One interesting fact about Madonna's all-time Top 20? Not one track charted lower than Number 3. Of the most famous, Like A Virgin started an unbeaten run of 36 consecutive Top 10s and has a total of 892,000, while infamous 1989 Number 1 Like A Prayer scores 792,000. And that huge disco comeback, the ABBA-sampling Hung Up, from 2005, has racked up 697,000.

    As for her top ballad of all-time – it's the super-smoochy Crazy For You, which peaked at Number 2 twice, in 1985 and 1991, with 766,000.

    Madonna's all-time Top 20 biggest songs on the Official Chart, as counted down by BBC Radio 2 on Saturday 25 August:

    TITLE PEAK YEAR + RECAP
    1 Into The Groove 1 1985 ----> 957,000 (Almost One Million!!! )
    2 Like A Virgin 3 1984 ----> 892,000
    3 Holiday 2 1984/1985/1991 ----> 878,000
    4 Like A Prayer 1 1989 ----> 792,000
    5 Crazy For You 2 1985/1991 ----> 766,000
    6 Papa Don't Preach 1 1986
    7 Hung Up 1 2005 ----> 697,000
    8 Vogue 1 1990
    9 True Blue 1 1986
