The consumers of 1990-91 need to get their butts whooped...

Garth Brooks dominating the charts was to 90s music chart followers what Morgan Wallen is now...without the racism lol

Bedtime Stories competed with Doggystyle and II (BIIM were really dominating the charts back in the day).

Tragic Kingdom had Don't Speak so it was impossible for Evita to get to the top.

And the Titanic soundtrack, well IYKYK...

In 1998 we got the 15M number for this album sales from Warner - and people have been using it ever since (for 25 years).
Of course the album catalog sales are not ZERO during 25 years!

As 2015 "Like A Prayer" was already elligible for 5xPlatinum in US (not sure how sales stand now but are certainly still under 6xP).

As 2023 we know the title song alone give "Like a Prayer" album worldwide downloads and stream equivalent that are way over 1 million album units.

Most probably "Like a Prayer" (that was a better seller in Europe comparing to US) already sold 17M pure and 19M equivalent units worldwide as 2023.

Except we know for a fact that in US alone it sold over 1M equivalent already by 2015

The album even returned to UK TOP 100 during 2016 (and other European countries during the XXI century), Selling 2M in 25 years worldwide means selling an around 1550 pure sales units worldwide per week on average (so 300 albums in US on average per week during the past 25 years meaning some week may have sold 900 and others may have sold only 100 only). Sales from the past 13 years are very low worldwide but from 1998 to 2010 catalog sale were quite higher and albums needed to sell a lot more to chart.

You also act like songs from the album sold zero digital songs and have no streams at all worldwide. Only with all worldwide streams and track equivalents she would get another 2 million as "Like a Prayer" is among her best digital selling songs and most streams songs in almost every country in the world. Sure in some countries some of the streams and songs sales from these albums main singles may have gone for compilations but we don't know that for sure - still even if that happened it certainly is over 17M for sure.

                                            Thanks!

I've been reading at least on a weekly basis but mostly quick scroll on my tablet (where I'm not logged in - time have been short lately).
Today I had to open the forum in the computer as there are too many posts underestimating Madonna all time worldwide sales already.

Even if an album only sells on average 1.000 units worldwide per week that still means over 1 million in 20 years.
