Most of us here are 30 to 40.
I have a bad feeling about this.

Just a few years ago, he had about the same streaming figures as M (actually, a bit worse than her) , then the biopic literally changed everything for him, he jumped on playlist reach as well, his team/company did great at getting him on every possible playlist he could be featured on...it became more apparent when for the longest time Tiny Dancer was his most streamed track then Rocket Man took over (well in America at least ) and then after he scored once more with Dua's (and Brit's) collabo, so he and his team did everything right - I think his constant touring also helped btw-.

He had some 2B streams overall right before the film and then he got almost 800M streams in one year alone after the film ...

btw he also got a huge cert audit a few years back, something M has yet to do

as for M, well we know how her team does things (they seem to be getting a little better but it's still a "we'll see" kinda situation)

Twenty years ago teenagers didn’t really play her either. Whilst I was obsessing over Madonna it was all about Eminem, Britney and Christina. Beyoncé wasn’t Beyoncé yet but there was a lot of RnB and rap coming up.

I’m generalising, but straight men don’t play female pop acts, but are happy to play male singer songwriter acts like Elton, Bruce, Rolling Stones, Beatles etc.
I have a bad feeling about this.

        • Gosh I understand streaming aren’t great for her at the moment, and I also underlined that, but some of u ( 2 users in particular ) are really making a drama out of it….

It’ s just a bad moment, she will recover …..

Well, Madonna is the only female in the top 10 best selling, the sexism is showing. People don’t like to see a female age and don’t pay attention to them, don’t get radio play etc. Males don’t have that

            • I've run out of SPS figures for Madonna. It's been a good run. I started April 17.

I'm Breathless album Sales Plus Streaming (SPS): 435,000

Certified 2x Platinum in July 1990.

              2 million plus 435k SPS = 2,435,000

If WBR puts all the streaming for Vogue towards IB, it could be a candidate for 3x Platinum some day?

Sorry, I couldn't answer before. The Remasters of Madonna, Like a Virgin and True Blue were released in US in 2001.

Does anyone knows if they made the original albums chart in some US chart?

                • ^I don't think so. In 2001, catalog albums could not chart on the Billboard 200.

Absolutely… she’s still above 24m and a year ago that would seem incredible. This is the calm before the storm, people. Vulgar, Popular and The Celebration Tour will all happen in less than 50 days. Get ready.

                                      • The song with Sam is apparently coming tonight.

Do you know if songs released on a Wednesday can make it and be included in New Music Friday playlists two days later?

I’m really surprised that Universal haven’t milked the life out of her three albums with them, considering they lose the license in a year or two. They can’t alter the album without Madonna’s approval (same as Warner were never able to) but they could have been releasing colour variations and even cassettes for years.
I have a bad feeling about this.

I am surprised of the same... but I am expecting all 3 albums re released on multiple colour variations with 6 months interval from each other pre licensing them to Warner. July is Madonna 40th anniversary so the time is right and they might know something is coming from Warner... this is payback time from when MDNA released and Warner got those 2 box sets out.
