For some reason I can't never find data for singles like "Piece of me", "Break the ice", "Circus (song)" or "3" on the main official french chart. I think they just charted separately on the Digital donwloand chart but not on the main one. It doesn't matter tho since all of her albums produced hits there anyway.

Also while doing some researches, I found some interesting info:

    - "Everytime" was never released as a single in Italy
    - "Overprotected", "Radar" and "Criminal" were never released as singles in Germany
    - "Outrageous" had an official release in Japan as an EP and it peaked at #31 on the Oricon album's chart and charted for 8 weeks
    - "Criminal" and "Perfume" were never released as singles in the UK
    - Several of Britney's cover arts for singles and albums were slightly different in Germany.

"Blackout", "The singles collection", "I'm not a girl not yet a woman", "Circus (single)" among others.

Britney doesn't have a 4th single in Germany since the "Britney" album, last time she released a 4th single in that country was "Boys" in 2002. Ever since, "In the zone", "Blackout", "Circus" and "Femme Fatale" had 3 commercial singles in Germany while "GH:MP", "Britney Jean" and "The singles collection" had 2 singles or less.

          • The problem with some singles in France is that those charts didn't count digital sales until the time HIAM was already charting. That's why it peaked only top 40 at that chart. Because the week it was released the charts didn't include digital. Same applies to some Circus and Blackout singles which never got physical release. HIAM would have been top 10 in France or even higher.

                    • Her history in Japan is so random. And refreshing too! It's nice to see a country where her peak wasn't in her first two eras!

                          • Great posts and great work Jade.

However I hate that way of putting her sales like (0,35million, 0,2million, 0,02million, etc) so many 0s makes me desperate . . . I would prefer instead 350K, 200K, 20K, etc

                            Impressive stats tho.
Britney Spears . Michael Jackson . Madonna . Metallica . Radiohead . Led Zeppelin . Oasis . Beyoncé . Soda Stereo

i think she's one of the American acts with most Top 10 albums (8), but don't quote me on it.

ITZ must has had a very decent chart-run there because with a peak of #28 it still was certified Gold while "Femme Fatale" which debuted at #3 didn't reach a certification.

Remember that "In the zone" started quite underperforming internationally and that its like her only album (apart BOMT) that was actually a grower and took many weeks to find big success and peak in several markets, I think it took like 5 months to peak in the UK (very opposed to Britney's usual frontloaded tendency).

She may be for sure, and she has 5 multi-platinum albums there.

This is true. Toxic and Everytime really saved the album. In The Zone charted for more weeks than Britney in New Zealand (and a lot of countries).

Very impressive that until Britney Jean, all of her albums peaked inside the Top 4 in Australia except for ITZ which peaked in the Top 10.

I really like ITZ's chart run in Ireland

Britney also peaked several weeks after its debut

                                        • Yep, "In the zone" is amazing, Its not weird to find it as one of her lowest peaking albums on several markets, but thats not because the album didn't have success, its simply because the album wasn't frontloaded. It had good solid chart-runs mostly thanks to the impact of singles like "Toxic" and "Everytime". The album never reached the top 10 in the UK and still outsold "Britney" there.

                                          • In The Zone's sales are impressive considering she only needed two singles to push the album while Britney needed 4 (5 including Anticipating). It could have done so much more tbh.

The story in Italy is funny, "Everytime" could not be released as a single in Italy because by the time she was about to release it, "Toxic" was still such a mega smash and by the time it slowed down on charts it was already time to move to the "GH:MP" promotion. So there was never a time to release "Everytime" such a shame tho since it would have smashed even harder there, its the exact type of song that would do great in Italy.

                                                    • I didn't know that. I always wondered why it wasn't released as a single but it makes sense. It would've been another Top 5 hit for sure.

At least "My Prerogative" hit #1 to make up for it.

I think I'm gonna continue to post her chart history/peaks in the biggest markets. Which one should I do next?

                                                        • Canada and Ireland. The ultimate stans. As far as females go, only Madonna has more #1s in Ireland.

I wonder how many Hot 100 #1s she would have by now if her label released her singles physically... probably like 7 or 8. Oops and Crazy being two of them.
