    • Also YouTube videos will count towards album sales in the USA! So that might help britneys next album to do well, as she will have additional support from YouTube! So if her next video can do well YouTube that will help her album sales

So they will count for BB200 as well? With a good video it’ll definitely benefit her!

        • Will streams count retroactively?
we will rise to meet the challenge every time

          • Yes as of January billboard 200 now includes YouTube views into album sales

            • The Youtube views now counting towards the Billboard 200 will only benefit her new / next album, there won’t be much of a difference with her past albums and the RIAA already counts (from some time ago) Youtube views for albums certifications so all of those views are already reflected towards her old albums for certifications purpose either way.

              • Yeah I’m talking future albums, it might help her achieve another number 1 album, although I have a feeling as she has left it so long from her previous album it’s gunna be a comeback album for her, so she may get number 1 based on hype alone, but now billboard counts YouTube views it’s really going to help her out, especially with stability on the charts, might help her next album chart for longer than say 6 weeks

                • In case Britney is releasing a new album someday, her first single needs a better music video than “Make Me”. These YouTube streaming numbers are horrible. A lot of things went wrong for “Glory”.

Yeah even if "Make Me" and "Slumber Party" didn't end up getting great views they (at least) still got solid first week numbers, she's (historically) always good with the first week and quite frontloaded so that could help her on the debut week.

However that also means that she could be blocked even more easily now by some huge "Despacito" or "Shape Of You" type of viral video that there is around at the moment, there's always these huge massive videos every year and that will make competition on the Billboard 200 harder.

Getting a new #1 album is not that hard these days if the right cards are played, just release an album in a dead week and you could get a #1 with 40K or something like that.

                    • I have no doubt YouTube being included will help her new album, however, I'm not expecting any miracles. We have to keep in mind YouTube views have decreased a lot for older divas, as several countries (such as the US, UK, Canada, etc) have moved onto Spotify and Apple Music.

Madonna, Maluma - Medellín - 42 million views
Madonna, Swae Lee - 5.4 million views
Madonna - Dark Ballet - 3.8 million views
                      Madonna - Batuka - 3.3 million views
Mariah Carey - With You - 10 million views
Mariah Carey - GTFO - 9.7 million views
Mariah Carey - A No No - 6.3 million views
Christina Aguilera, Demi Lovato - Fall In Line - 42 million views
Christina Aguilera - Accelerate - 19 million views
                      P!nk - Walk Me Home - 90 million views
                      P!nk, Khalid - Hurts 2B Human - 19 million views
                      P!nk, Wrabel - 90 Days - 12 million views
Britney Spears, G-Eazy - Make Me - 65 million views
Britney Spears, Tinashe - Slumber Party - 88 million views
On the bright side, "Make Me" is at 119 million views including audio + performance, but still... even Katy Perry's last two attempts haven't even reached 25 million views, and she's more "current" than any of these divas.

Mess at Slumber Party having more YouTube views than Make Me... scrapping the original video really did affect the era

"Make Me" has more views only when you combine the music video + audio + vmas performance so it gets a higher total in consequence. But just going by the music video "Slumber Party" has more views.

And yeah "Make Me" was screwed, that reshot video was never going to end becoming a catalogue video in her career, it doesn't even have much replay value so it's destiny was pretty much sealed the day they pulled that MM video fisco.

Yeah sorry I meant Slumber Party having more views than Make Me... despite charting at #86 for 1 week

Her streams seem to be picking up nicely following Christmas. I'm pretty sure this is the first time "Gimme More" does 600K+ streams in a week. These are the last 5 updates:

                                            581,277
                                            529,294
                                            547,676
                                            575,297
                                            635,661
It should hit 90 million in less than two weeks. It's averaging 90K streams a day now.
