Thank you so much. I read a thread from ATRL claiming the BOMT tour had 1,110,000 tickets sold so I just wanted some clarification.

          -

With the Oops tour only having one date in 2001 its safe to say Britney sold just north of two million tickets in 1999-2000 alone. Along with 30 to 35 million albums in those two years(1999-2000)
Oops seems to of sold most of its units in 2000 considerings its year end chart placements in 2000 vs 2001. I wonder how many albums Oops sold in 2000 alone?

IMO I don't think any female artist has had a peak bigger then Britney's post BOMT. No female artists has been able to shift this many units in such a short amount of time besides Mariah Carey 1993-1995 and Celine Dion 1996-1997. Madonna may have but she take longer breaks between her albums so idk

No worries! matheusbelmont might have more information on ticket sales. 2 million definitely seems about right, though!

According to Jive Records, "...Baby One More Time" was up to 22 million by April 2000...

Also according to Jive, "Oops!...I Did It Again" shifted 16.5 million copies in the year 2000. Overall, she was up to 38.5 million albums before the release of her third album. Simply incredible.

She was nearing 2 million ticket sales, 15 million physical singles and 40 million album sales - all in 2 years and before turning 20.

                  • While it's nice to see these big numbers, it's definitely due to youtube's algorithm. There is no way it's increasing that much without any type of promo with an usual average of 100k (which is still good)

The weird thing is that it’s only Womanizer being affected by the algorithm, I have no idea why though. The views of the other videos are mostly pretty stable

And the other impressive point to make out about her incredible peak was that she was a pop culture phenomenon. Other female artists had massive sales peaks like Mariah 1993-1995 and Celine 1996-1997 but neither were massive pop culture figures like Britney was during her peak. Britney honestly rivals Madonna in that aspect.
Like sure Celine Dion sold a bunch of records in the late 90s but she doesn't have an iconic performance like Britneys Oops at the vma or any controversial moments like Britney's rolling stone cover.
Britney's peak really had it all

                          • Even with her first debut single she was already an inmediate global star, #1 in every country with an iconic music video. She was iconic since day 1.

Her peak was indeed insane even in terms of impact and pop culture (multiple iconic performances, songs, music videos and looks included).

                                  • Unpopular opinion, but "Glory" pulling over half a million streams a week is solid considering how old it is and the lack of success it had. "Make Me" was a moderate hit at best and is only responsible for about 25% of the album's weekly streams.

                                      • Would this SPS estimation for Circus in the US be accurate?
                                        -1.7M pure sales
                                        -934k TEAs
                                        -161,569 audio equivalent units
                                        -106,416 video equivalent units
                                        TOTAL: 2,901,985

For the album tracks sales I used the information in the OP, while in order to estimate the streaming numbers from other platforms I used MJD’s method that Instinct uses. Maybe we could assume that they shipped an extra 100k copies? So the album may be eligible for 3x platinum already

                                        Comment

                                        • Enzolorenzo Good job! I'd say that's about right. MJD has the album at 1.8 million including shipments so assuming that's accurate, it should get there later this year if it hasn't already.

I do hope Britney's team will eventually certify it, though. Not many pop stars can claim a 3x Platinum album 10 years into their careers.
