Of course it's fanfiction. I don't know about Spears's stats, because I'm not interested in her, but Xtina has sold over 85m of pure singles sales alone + add the total of albums (35m).

Then why are you lurking this thread?

Anyway that video is obviously record sales. It doesn't need to be posted here, though.

                • According to Chartmasters Britney has sold over 182 million records (pure sales)

                  Pure album sales - 77,600,000

                  Pure singles sales - 101,600,000 (18,6m physical + 83m digital)

Pure music video sales - 3,500,000

                  Total = 182,700,000

Britney overall is one of the 10 best selling female artists of all time.

She also stands out in each format separately. She’s one of the all time top 10 female albums sellers, she’s one of the all time top 10 female singles sellers and she’s one of the all time top 10 female touring acts.

                      Yep.

                      Females:

                      - Top 10 albums sales
                      - Top 10 physical singles sales
                      - Top 10 digital singles sales
                      - Top 10 singles sales combined
                      - Top 10 records sold overall
                      - Top 10 touring acts

                      Impressive indeed.

                      • It really is impressive considering digital sales were non existent during her golden years and touring was also far from being as profitable as it is nowadays, so that speaks volumes about her longevity. if I'm not wrong, Britney and Madonna are the only female artists who are Top 10 in all three categories (album sales, single sales and touring).

Yep. They are the only female artists who are in the all time top 10 of those three categories (album sales, single sales and touring grossing).

However the current / modern times gave birth to a new and 4th category which is streaming. So there are 4 categories now: album sales, single sales, touring grossing and streaming and neither Britney or Madonna made (or are close to make) the Top 10 most streamed female artists of all time.

It’s fine though. Madonna / Britney made the Top 10 in 3/4 categories (albums + singles + touring) while there are other divas that also made the Top 10 in 3/4 categories such as Beyoncé (solo) or Taylor Swift (singles + touring + streaming).

I think the DVD/ Music video sales could be a 5th category (and I think Britney would easily make the Top 10 among females in that one too) BUT that category doesn’t seem to be as exciting or relevant in the industry.

Also there could be one extra category: Top 10 biggest female artists on the Radio of all time but tracking global radio data is virtually impossible.

                              • Great to see “Baby One More Time” hitting 500 million. It’s worth mentioning that the single version of “(You Drive Me) Crazy” known as the “Stop Remix” is not included in that total.

BTW, BOMT is in great company in that list , all of those albums were massive female phenomenons during the 90s.

                                    • Got an idea...

remember earlier this year when Britney treated fans to a new Glory cover, followed by the worldwide mood ring release - all in response to fans making Glory number one on itunes.

What if we/her fans sent My only wish this year up the itunes chart (ideally top 10 US/worldwide). Maybe she would treat us to a video next year, once she’s ‘free’... if she is ever free. Just a crazy thought i just had. A cute video with her kids in. Ooh la la 2 with a xmas vibe. Could be cheesy though, maybe the audio is all we need....

Thinking maybe one week in November, not December when there are like 30+ Christmas songs in the top 100 on top of new releases.

According to Chartmasters “Blackout” sold 90,000 copies (pure sales) in Australia. Which IMO seems very accurate (90K-100K seems to be a good amount).

Up until 2010 it was her second lowest selling album (out of her main 6 studio albums and 2 major compilations released at that time).
