Yep, she wasn't supported by Radio and the media during that era (for obvious reasons), the first 2 singles still managed to do good despite the airplay tho, "Gimme More" reachted the top 3 on the Hot 100 and "Piece of me" reached the top 20 peaking at #18 and it didn't reach the top 10 because the low airplay prevented it to do it.

Then by the time Spears released "Femme Fatale" many were saying that was her lowest era at that time, but I disagree, I think despite the fact "Blackout" moved a bit more albums the overall "Femme Fatale" era was bigger than it, just look at the stats between the two and it couldn't be more obvious.

It pains me that Blackout still hasn't crossed the 300,000 mark in the UK; it was last at 275,000 when Circus was released (I think). I'm sure it's eligible for Platinum based on shipments alone but the new system would have certified it automatically if it had crossed it in sales.

The new system (despite being automatic) is not 100% perfect either, I know several cases of albums that haven't been updated yet despite having the enough sales, "Hard Candy" by Madonna being one particular example which is over 300K units but the system still shows it as a Gold record. They still have a some work to do with some albums.

Unfortunately I think "Blackout" is still stuck around 290K or something like that and "In the zone" is probably over 560K and could even have the shipments but as "ThatBieberSide" said the shipments don't apply for certifications in UK.

Out of those only "Femme Fatale" should be re-certified / updated.

Don't worry, don't take my numbers as seriously they're just estimations. 4million for "Circus" sounds fine. Anything in the 3,7m - 4m Range is accurate for it (thats like the minimum - maximum for the album).

In the case of "Blackout" I think it may be at / over 3million on shipments but I think it has sold over 2,5million (based on what I know). Although I have the feeling is undercertified in some markets.
