The problem is not how close the real Soundscan numbers Billboard just published are to those """"leaked"""" that were posted here, but the fact that some Britney fans feel the need to Photoshop fake e-mails that supposedly people at RCA sent them or even a fake e-mail that "Ask Billboard" also sent somebody (page 52)...

And when some users said those were fake, (as record companies don't send emails with sales, Ask Billboard publish it on their web not via email, and anybody could fake that email) they were called "haters" and "to get a life".
Some should say "Sorry, you were right, those were fake fan-made emails".

Their sales are rounded so they don't really mean anything. (BB's articles have become pretty pointless since they round most sales figures.).
Really? Then why didn't they round FF's 794K figure?

So they rounded 2,937,000 to 3m but they didn't round 967K to 1m. Yeah right

BB rounded the numbers but only because the actual numbers are already very close to the rounded ones. It should be okay to do so. They still show WB at 967K, not 1M, so?.

They were all pretty much off. People did pretend it was a SoundScan leak when it was beyond obvious that it was fake. They were extremely naive when we know the "leak" was proven to be fake.

Also, the fake SS leak is from August 2015 so sales would be higher now.

Lots of people were naive enough to believe those sales were real when they were actually made up. I personally knew it since day 1 since it was extremely obvious they were fake but some people clung to them for almost a year.

With Britney-mania in full effect since "Make Me" arrived at midnight Friday morning (July 15), let's recap her best-selling albums in the U.S. and song downloads, according to Nielsen Music (while remembering that her 1998 career launch predates the digital download era).

    Albums
    …Baby One More Time (1999), 10.6 million; Oops!...I Did It Again (2000), 9.2 million; Britney (2001), 4.4 million; In the Zone (2003), 3 million; Circus (2008), 1.7 million; Greatest Hits: My Prerogative (2004), 1.5 million; Blackout (2007), 1 million; Femme Fatale (2011), 794,000; Britney Jean (2013), 272,000; The Singles Collection (2009), 260,000

With 33.4 million albums sold in the U.S., Spears is the 17th-best-selling album artist since Nielsen began tracking sales in 1991. Among women, she's fourth, after Mariah Carey (55 million), Celine Dion (52.6 million) and Shania Twain (34.7 million). After Spears, Reba McEntire rounds out the top five among women (30.5 million).

    Songs
"Womanizer," 3.5 million downloads sold; "Circus," 3.2 million; "Till the World Ends," 3 million; "3," 2.4 million; "Toxic," 2.3 million

"Piece of Me," 1.9 million; "Gimme More," 1.84 million; "I Wanna Go," 1.78 million; "Hold It Against Me," 1.6 million; "If U Seek Amy," 1.3 million

Those 10 songs represent Spears' 10 million-selling downloads. Next on the list: "Work B**ch!," at 967,000.
TTWE passes 3M and almost 1M for WB.

Its so strange that her label hasn't certified "Britney Jean" Gold yet (its eligible for Gold under the new rules with streaming / TEAs).

    ^ Nice post.

Singles wise she did cool between 2011 - 2012. She got 5 Top 10 hits including two #1 hits in that period, had radio relevance and got nice streaming numbers. Plus she has a RIAA Platinum album in this decade and over $150m grossing from Touring in this decade so far. Hopefully her upcoming single does good.
