    Cool

BTW, another of her music videos and this time a very iconic pop hit, "Oops I did it again" is heading to be her next VEVO certified video, it has surpassed 90million views and it's been increasing fast in views. The song and music video came out 16 years ago in 2000 and inmediately became an MTV staple and one of the most iconic pop hits of the 00s as well as one of Spears' most well known hits around the world.

On another note her ultimate classic "Baby one more time" which is already VEVO certified has surpassed 190million views and it'll break the 200million mark soon. It remains as one of the most watched "Old" music videos and one of the few old school videos that got VEVO certidied.

      • Hey guys, don't mean to be a pain but could someone recap how Britney's album certification would look after the new rules were implemented? Thank you.

Regarding her albums these ones are eligible for new certs based on new streaming + track sales rules:

          Circus - 2x Platinum
          The singles collection - Gold
Femme Fatale - 2x Platinum (depending on how much % of streaming comes from the US)
          Britney Jean - Gold

Apart from that old albums are eligible for new certifications even before these new rules such as:

          Britney - 5x Platinum
In the zone - 3x Platinum (could go as high as 4x Platinum with new rules)

All of her singles are undercertified or criminally uncertified at all, with new rules most of them would go Gold and Platinum and several ones Multi-Platinum

RIAA / Her label own her a lot of certifications.

Is this common for other RCA artists?

My guess is that team Britney doesn't even ask RCA to certify her stuff or even remind them to do so. :x

Just a quick search of other rca artists shows that some are very undercertified but others have had better luck with this :-?
Buy and stream Britney's new hot sinlgle: "Make Me...".

                        • ^ Yep, and "Gimme More" and "I wanna go" will hit 2m next

At the end of the day, "Work Bitch" sold over 1m in USA (probably eligible for a 2x Platinum cert with new rules), reached the top 10 in around 10 countries, obtained Gold and platinum certifications in several other countries such as Australia, Canada, Denmark, Italy, Mexico, Sweden and Venezuela and its music video is over 200 million views. So definately a moderate hit.

                                    • So her new album is (apparently) coming out 1 month after the lead!

Having a single still rising (hopefully) while the album is out and not already peaking is something we haven't experienced for a while. Plus, I think a long break between lead and album is pointless nowadays, especially in Britney's case since she won't really do much in between anyways. And June is a great month to release, little competition and easy to score good chart debuts WW.

I want top 5 debuts in the UK, France, Germany, Australia and Canada. I think France and Canada are are given.

I agree. But she has to promote.
                                        ? Girls' Generation ?
                                        ? HyoYeon ? Britney Spears ?

Girls' Generation is the best-selling girl group of all time.

I agree. If she can go to several countries in Europe to promote underwear, she can do it for her music.

I'm not expecting good sales for the album, but if the lead becomes a hit, SPS will save her. I guess the new rules aren't so bad after all.

I think she could still have a FF-like era in terms of chart success and sales (including SPS), if she plays her cards right. Time will tell.

Even "Britney Jean" is now eligible for a Gold certification with the new rules. So I guess these new rules do favour her.

However I'm not expecting anything for the album's performance, her days as an album seller are over. I'm just hoping a comeback for her singles career. Don't forget that in the singles department she's performed better than nearly anyone from her generation in this decade. P!nk, Eminem and Britney Spears have been the most successful acts (from that generation) Singles-wise during the 2010s. With an actual good banger she'll grab another Pop hit single.

Don't know about older albums, but "Britney Jean" was released under RCA not Jive, so yep, they can definately certify it Gold whenever they want.

                                                  • Britney Jean should be Gold
270k sold = 290k shipped (RIAA works shipments)
                                                    160k TEA
90k SEA estimate assuming 35% of its streams come from the United States

Definitely eligible for Gold. I hope they do certify it so all of her studio albums are certified.
