I would moreso blame the conservatorship for her career stalling in the 2010s. It's the reason everything started falling apart. Clueless people like Jamie Spears and Lou M Taylor took full control and were making all the decisions. She was basically a prisoner and forced to do things against her own will. Under the effect of her "medication" and the mental abuse she was enduring, she became lethargic, visibly disinterested, and completely alienated fans who left era on era. Just think about how she drastically changed between 3 and Femme Fatale.

Things like Britney Jean and the tragic Vegas era would not happen if she had her freedom. I'm also now 100% sure that Jamie and/or Lou decided to cancel the original Make Me video because they didn't like the symbolism she was pushing for (cage, chains, topless scenes...). She was trying to get a message across with that video and they caught wind of that. Also remember the deleted Work Bitch scenes and the iconic "I'm a mom now"? Surely the work of that religious nutjob and her brainwashing.

For this reason, I'm very excited to see what she will do going forward. I'm sure a lot of producers will be lining up to work with her and I hope she comes up with a great record next.

We cant expect an act to always pull the same numbers. Her relevance waned like it naturally should have. Now I would argue she is as relevant as she was in some years of the 2000s and that is what is mostly fueling the success imo.

I do think RCA supported the Glory era but what caused the decline was the public/radio's interest and probably her team's interference. If she had released the original Make Me music video who knows how the era would have gone. They probably canned it because her topless scenes in the cage would further cause fans to think she was feeling imprisoned. Thats my theory anyway

agree that those singers are not relevant like the used to be but with Britney’s case she still was able to make top 10 hits after the femme fatale era and RCA had a lot of missed opportunities with her….
if they would release the video for work bi*ch the same day of release it would easily entered the top ten in hot 100.
perfume would’ve do better if not the video fiasco.
same would happen with pretty girls, now it’s forgotten but back then it’s streams were pretty good, easily top 20.
if make me would have the slumber party first week streams it would be top 10 as well.
She had a huge residency in Vegas they could have a bundle for glory (just like other pop stars did) yet they didn’t, and she closed this decade in 2016 with 2 flop albums that barely got gold in USA alot of flop singles(with the exception of WB and MM which also kinda low for her standards)?and all of this because of RCA
