Yeah I don’t think we’re going to out of ourselves like other fanbases, but it’s still disappointing. Especially with how cohesive and amazing this album is. It’s sad to see how most people think that 25 is better than 30 just because it’s more radio friendly and smashed harder. She was very happy and I’m glad she had a great time with Bey and Lizzo. Hopefully the album has a nice boost, especially physical sales!
And even in her "flop era" in pure sales, 30 is still the third best selling album in the US and THE best selling in the UK since 2020. It's the streams that have been the main problem. But her streaming presence has been growing with her old songs blowing up on Tiktok one by one. So there's hope 30 also gets to benefit from that.
I am looking forward to her next album. I know it will take a while but we've learned to be patient in this fandom.

And the album is #12 on US iTunes now. That's quite good considering it didn't win. And Easy on me is #17.

Can EOM re-enter in the HOT 100? If it has points for that, of course. I don't remember the rules.

I'm just happy that the difference between the first and the last track in streams is so small. It means that most people who started the album listened to it all the way through.

Anyway, Adele - with her seven Big-4 - achieved an unimaginable success for a female singer, no one else did it under 30y.

Ok, I know that our socialist lady Bonnie Raitt is a poet and her song a poetry, composing on such an important and emotionally charged topic.
But EOM deserved to be SOTY, so obvious!

zagan0401 This was the first time ever that Adele lost all the big four with an album.Even with 19 she won Best New Artist. But I hope she comes back stronger again with next album.

I tried to find other successful artists in the Big 4 (AOTY, SOTY, ROTY, BNA) categories.
In fact, it's really very difficult to be awarded, even for the world's biggest recognized stars.
There's a substantial difference in recognition for women and racial minorities, especially in winning more than three times.
Adele is a crazy exception: the number one tied with Paul Simon and the members of U2.

Best Pop Solo Performance really is Adele's strongest category. The last time she's lost it was in 2010 with Hometown Glory, when they still had the category split in two for men and women. And she won the female category with Chasing Pavements in 2009.
And I think it's quite impressive that she beat As It Was by Harry Styles in this category, when it was such a big hit in pop and Harry was so strong in many other categories.Last edited by joe2012finn; Mon February 6, 2023, 15:29.
