I was talking about YT. It did "well" on YT for a song that flopped on the charts. Almost as good as GMAYL which had superbowl and two guests festures.

Also even though it was released in 2012, when as you said Spotify only had 15 million users, it still has 40 million streams. More then GMAYL and LFL. Its also her 31st most streamed song weekly. LFL was released when streaming was a thing. So I wouldnt say GGW gave it a run for its money in floppage. LFL was just an all around flop. GGW at least goes viral on twitter from time to time.

GGW was released three weeks ahead of MDNA, the first time she had released a second single from an album (excluding ‘movie song as first single’) in forever. The song is in Madonna’s ‘Spotify - This is Madonna’ playlist, and we’ve discussed the importance of being on that playlist (and the position) in relation to her most streamed songs on Spotify.

Streaming was still in its infancy when Living For Love was released - Apple Music hadn’t even launched when Rebel Heart was released. LFL leaked ahead of being released, was rush released (without a music video) two months ahead of schedule and without announcement, alongside five other tracks (which naturally took focus away from Living For Love).

It’s worth recognising that between MDNA and Rebel Heart Madonna’s career dramatically changed. The entire MDNA era (especially the tour) dramatically reduced her appeal to casuals and they didn’t follow her when the industry eventually moved from downloads to streaming.

If GGW was as big as you’re claiming, then why isn’t it playlisted anywhere else? It’s also not the most played from FEL - you cannot look at total streams from the last decade, you need to look at streams from the release of the FEL album itself for a fair comparison.

GGW is my second favourite from MDNA (after Beautiful Killer) but it just sadly isn’t the hit everyone is making it out to be and the general public at large honestly don’t know it. Yes it continues to be streamed but we are still talking small figures that match legitimate, global Madonna hits.

I’m surprised that the LFL remix is the last one, I thought that because it was a first single and then the one used for the performances it would have been more remembered, also interesting that D&D narrowed the gap to ITG and it could surpass it in a few weeks, the streams overall have tanked a bit to ~90k daily but it’s ok for a remix compilation and no promo.

The best option to help the album to chart is to get a copy, either CD or Vinyl, now If you want to go further and if you have the money you can buy one copy from one of the main countries like UK, France or Germany that have some exclusive editions.

But it’s always better to buy physical vs just streaming.
