Low key still hoping things change now she's back at Warner and at least the standard cd version gets released here.

In UK compilations usually do a lot better. I have faith this can even became a #01 Album for her in UK - it will all depend on competion that week. The fact that have over 2 months pre-sales to be accumulated will certainly help.

If I'm not mistaken the German album chart is based on revenue correct? so with all those editions being as much as they are she should be a contender for number one as well.

It’s important to remember this is a remix album and not a greatest hits album. When did a remix album last top the charts? It’s rare for one to hit #1 and this has no new songs on it. I think #1 in the UK is too ambitious, unless Madonna promotes - she hasn’t had a #1 album here since MDNA.
I have a bad feeling about this.

True but she was pretty unlucky wiht both "Rebel Heart" and "Madame X". 2/3 of the albums released during those years went to #01 with lower sales in UK than the ones Madonna albums have had to be #02.

August is mostly a quiet month plust they decided to release it right aftter Madonna birthday to make more media buzz about it.
I know it's not easy as this is a remix album and that's unheard for remix albums to hit number one especially without any new song (Michael Jackson remix album have had 5 new songs and one of those new songs was even a #01 hit in UK). This said it doesn't make impossible, especially in August and when the album is also being promoted as having "50 number ones". Looking at early pre-sales is promising but let's see how are pre-sales doing during next few weeks and how this album promo will really be in June, July and August.

I hope you're right about Warner idea of the June only streaming release be so that songs can slowly be added to playlists and get a streaming peak on August when physical albums are released. That makes total sense marketing wise.

The German Amazon positions were initially higher as well. I think there was one version in the top 10
                      and another top 15.

We honestly shouldn't expect a #1 in any country. We've been trapped so many times in the last eras, especially with Rebel Heart and Madame X missing the top spot for a few thousands copies in the UK…
At least it will be chart for at least two weeks with the separate release dates! 50 songs is huge so it should also bring some nice streaming numbers as a whole for its first days.
They seem to be putting a lot of money in this project, with so many editions, etc. So I'm confident there will be some smart decisions (releasing on her birthday week is one of them) but we can't expect any #1 debut imo, we're setting ourselves up.

I know I shouldn't expect it but I'm hoping for a live performance somewhere. A well rehearsed performance on some late night television show would be nice. Even if she just stands there and moved from side to side

VMA's are usually late August or early September only.

This year are early on 28 August but her release is August 19 so her first week sales ends on August 25 (3 days before VMA's).

VMA's nominees and winners streams and sales have gains 2 days before the VMAs and the week after VMAs so it won't affect Madonna first week. Also VMAs only affect US.

So she front loads on pre-sales then benefits from second week sales after a performance. Sounds like a win to me.

the pre-sales could help the album reach a good position in the release week? so that's smart? hope they'll do the same with M15
Blue hydrangea, cold cash divine. Cashmere, cologne and white sunshine.
Red racing cars, sunset and vine. And we were young and pretty.

Pre-sales are sales made before release but dispatched on the week of release, so they all count as sales in week one. They did the same with MX.

Most acts do it now and some use it as a way of working out what their chart position could be. If things get desperate some artists even offer signed albums nowadays, especially if they want that #1.

Well here’s the bigger question - how big is Madonna? She has no chart power anymore and next to no chart hits since her last actual greatest hits album. There’s no new music on this album and it’s not even the songs as people know and love them. What is the actual selling point to the casual fan that GH albums are normally marketed to?
