A bit disappointed that it didn't go Top 40, especially when it probably would've had it simply been released on a Friday.

But a few things to note:
        - This is her very first Hot Digital Songs No 1. She was previously as high as No 2 with "I'll Stand By You" (behind Maroon 5's big seller "Makes You Wonder").
        - This is her second sales No 1, since "Inside Your Heaven" (the biggest-selling physical single of that year).
        - This is No 5 on Hot Country Songs (from No 20), meaning ALL her radio singles have gone Top 10 on HCS, a record she has *extended* (most Top 10 singles since debut).
        - This is the first female country artist No 1 on HDS since Taylor Swift's "Begin Again".
        - This is the first country artist No 1 on HDS since Jason Aldean's "Bunin' It Down".

Not to mention, the No 20 debut on Country Airplay was her second highest after the No 17 debut of "Something In The Water" (peaked at No 2 in the end, but 7 weeks at No 1 on Hot Country Songs and became the second-longest Christian No 1 single), tying "So Small" (3 weeks at No 1 in the end). And it's her second or third No 1 on iTunes after "The Champion", depends on whether IYH hit No 1 or not; and the first *real* No 1 on iTunes (TC was always behind one or two songs combined).

I think 54000 copies is the highest sum for a female solo country artist this year? And behind only Jason Aldean and Florida-Georgia Line, but I'm not certain.

Once again, I'm not certain, but I believe this is No 1 on Hot Digital Songs, Hot Digital Tracks, and Country Digital Songs, so that's 3 more Billboard No 1s added to her tally.

^ thanks for these stats, that‘s amazing!

I think the debut on the Hot 100 is okay since she‘s nowhere on streaming...

So the sells are in total 74,000. The song was streamed 3.8 million times in America, so SPS should be around 100k.

And she hasn't even released the music video!

The début is fine, I was just frustrated by the fact that releasing on Friday would've almost guaranteed a Top 40 placement.

Carrie Underwood's 'Cry Pretty' Is First Country No. 1 on Digital Song Sales Chart Since 2014
                  https://www.billboard.com/articles/colu ... cry-pretty
                  4/24/2018 by Jim Asker

Carrie Underwood's "Cry Pretty," which she performed live for the first time at the 53rd Academy of Country Music Awards April 15, soars 20-5 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart (dated April 28).

Released April 11, the track jumps 4-1 on Country Digital Songs Sales with 54,000 downloads sold in its first full week of tracking (April 13-19; up from 21,000), according to Nielsen Music, becoming Underwood's sixth No. 1 on the survey and first since 2015's "Smoke Break."

"Pretty" concurrently becomes Underwood's first No. 1 on the all-genre Digital Song Sales survey, where it's the first country leader since Jason Aldean's "Burnin' It Down," which topped the Aug. 9, 2014-dated tally. It's the first such song by a woman since Taylor Swift's "Begin Again" (Oct. 13, 2012).

"Pretty" additionally boasts 3.8 million U.S. streams (up from 782,000).

Underwood notches her 27th total and consecutive Hot Country Songs top 10, encompassing all of her country singles promoted to the format, excluding holiday fare. She began her run with her first country single, "Jesus, Take the Wheel," which in 2006 became the first of her 14 No. 1s.

Underwood extends the longest streak of top 10 promoted singles from a career's start on Hot Country Songs. Tracy Lawrence ranks second with 19 in 1992-97.

On the all-genre Billboard Hot 100, "Pretty" debuts at No. 48.

Tbh, song is just meh... Hope the second single before the album drops is way better. She needs something catchy as “Blown away” or “Good girl”.

She released a new song called "Love Wins". Shockingly, it's not even inside the US iTunes Top200 yet

"Cry Pretty" sits at #62 at the moment.

It's very difficult to predict her first-week sales considering everything, but I'm putting it down as 185k SPS, with the range being 160-220k.

The music video to "Love Wins" is going to be released on Apple Music tomorrow, but apparently some people already have a first look. And Carrie herself tweeted a snippet of it!

People said it focused on a lesbian couple before showing a cancer patient when everyone was forming a heart, and holi powder (read: India) was used towards the end. It will also be the anniversary to 9/11.

Is Legendarrie going to bring equality to LGBT people, cure cancer, and eliminate terrorism after reforming India in one song?

Perhaps the video will be like the one to "Firework" that made it a mega-hit it was.
