“Shallow”’s Oscar bump
Not only did the 2019 Academy Awards reverse the downward ratings trend of 2018’s all-time low telecast (29.6 million viewers, up 12% year-over-year), this year’s Oscars gave a major bump to Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper’s “Shallow,” which took home the trophy for Best Original Song and sent the anthemic A Star Is Born duet to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 the week ending Feb. 28 on the strength of consumption peaks across the board.

And by the way since last 5 weeks are missing here , here are the updated US chart runs: "Shallow" Billboard Hot 100: #28-#5-#10-#14-#21-#22-#24-#23-#28-#38-#39-#44-#52-#29-#23-#24-#24-#16-#24-#18-#21-
#1-#6-#9-#7-#10-#11-#13-#16-#15-#19-#22-#36-#37-#43-#34-#39
A Star Is Born OST Billboard 200: 1-1-1-2-2-5-4-4-7-4-3-4-10-7-6-8-4-5-2-3-1-3-3-3-6-8-12-15-16-20-21-21-26–27-27-21-16
Thanks for the US chart runs - I totally forgot that 'Shallow' initially rose to the top 10 in week 2 only to drop from then on and have a resurgence months after its release ultimately leading to its No. 1 peak in its 22nd charting week. Things like that rarely happen... In fact, I only remember a few crossover hits such as 'Need You Now', 'You Belong With Me' or 'Cruise' having performed in a similar way.
“Shallow”’s Oscar bump
The ratings weren’t the only metrics up after the 2019 Academy Awards aired on February 24. This year’s Oscars gave a major bump to Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper’s “Shallow,” which took home the trophy for Best Original Song and sent the anthemic A Star Is Born duet to No. 1 on the Canadian Hot 100 the week ending Feb. 28 on the strength of consumption peaks across the board.
13.7K DIGITAL DOWNLOADS, up 225%
4.4 MILLION ON-DEMAND SONG STREAMS, up 79%
6.9 MILLION AUDIENCE IMPRESSIONS at radio, up 8%, the week ending March 3
So, that's the total sales in Canada until JUNE 20, 2019:
ASIB OST:155,000 from 2018 + 123,000 from mid 2019 = 278,000(3x Platinum elegible, 42,000 away from 4x P)
Shallow: 160,000 from 2018 (2x P) + 414,000 from mid 2019 = 574,000 (7x Platinum elegible), but...**
**Sales of December are missing in Shallow's total sales. Also, Shallow was certified 2x P on December 11, but it doesn't mean that this was the total by that date, everybody knows that Interscope is lazy to buy Gaga's certifications.
574,000 + 88,000 (December est.) = 662,000 (8x P elegible)
Shallow should already be eligible for 8x P, but 9x P isn't something far.

it olnly sold like 45K in japan which is quite dissapoting. she used to be really big there, even artpop reached 200k and now she can't get 50k, why?

Not Japan’s kind of music.
The movie didn’t smash there.
She didn’t go there to promote.
Artpop was released 6 years ago...
Every western artist sales have declined a lot in Japan. How many western artists sold more than 100k copies in Japan in 2018? 2? 3?
